We made it to Omaha and got to stay awhile.

We made it to Omaha and got to stay awhile since it's only slightly above sea level, unlock Colorado.  Grandma, Lydia and I took off for a 3 day trip mainly to visit the Children's Museum, the Henry Doorly Zoo and whatever else we could fit it.  We did those things and found the Durham Museum, the Riverfront Park, and a candy store!

The Children's Museum was great!  Like the new Wonderscope in a lot of ways.  The grocery store was sponsored by HyVee, Lydia's dreams were coming true.  She played here the majority of the time but we tested out the ball room, the India exhibit, the Tinker Lab, and the giant light up piano.

The Henry Doorly Zoo was great!  The animals were pretty active, especially the giraffes, gorillas and elephants.  We had a lot of fun at the giant adventure playground and the ginormous splash pad.  I think the Kingdoms of the Night exhibit was my favorite, so many alligators and crocodiles!

We finished up exploring the Old Market area, shopping at the candy store, eating all the ice cream and getting caught in an absolute downpour!  We finished up at the Riverfront park where the coolest, biggest, baddest playground is.  We checked out the Durham Museum and headed on.

My car killed a large flock of giant bugs swarming out of the corn fields of Iowa.

No sooner do we pass Platte City than Lydia starts to get quiet, nod off, and by the time we are home she has a 102 fever, chills and is vomiting.  Friday was back to normal and she was doing great Saturday morning too.  We had dinner on the deck Friday night and cleaned her new bike this afternoon and then wham, right back where we started...no vomit...yet.

June Fun in Photos

Neighborhood walks and summer learning work.  Lydia has been excited about journaling, handwriting practice, phonics and reading comprehension.  We're starting in on math and telling time in July.

Lunches and sleepovers at Grandma and Papa's are the best!

Old Shawnee Days parade, carnival, food trucks are the best way to spend a day!
Watched the parade with Grandma and Papa and got lots of candy.
Hit the carnival with Mom and Dad and we ate brats, funnel cakes and more!

Lydia with her fav grads, Kylee and Jordan!

First day of camp photo and Wonderscope fun!
Lydia is doing Art Camp, Cooking Camp and one outdoors camp this summer.

Playing with some birthday presents, the Barbie airplane and a new pink golf driver.

Lydia made a tie dye shirt at art camp that perfectly coordinated with her tie dye shorts.
We had our first breakfast picnic at the park and visit to the farmer's market.

Lydia tried on my First Communion dress because hers is less than a year a way!  We're going to see if we can alter it enough for her.  Also, why do you see her pink shirt so much and was it see through when I work it?  Yikes!  Also, giant new headphones.

A Descendants concert in the driveway followed by a night at Theater in the Park to see Descendants the Musical.  Lydia wanted to stay and meet all the characters but it was going on 11pm. She's writing them letters and my friend at JCPRD is going to deliver them.

We went to see Lightyear and ate our weight in movie theater food!
Lydia learned how to create fortune tellers at Art Camp and is now offering her services in the driveway on select evenings.  This particular night it was 50% off and cost zero dollars!

Inside Out: Lydia's Version

Anxiety - yep, about most things. Envy - uh huh, and wondering why she's different. (scars, treatments, growth hormone shots, CPAP, IE...
