Surgery #8, I think, in October

Lydia will be having surgery October 29th.

Hopefully out-patient for another adenoidectomy, inferior turbinate reduction and a new set of ear tubes.  Dr. will also do a bronchoscopy to make sure her airway is healthy and safe.

Dr. described the inferior turbinate reduction as shrinking or shriveling the part of your nose that filters, warms and humidifies the air you breath.  Lydia's is like grapes, we need raisins.

So how did all this come to be?

Lydia has been sawing logs, calling hogs, raking up the coals, and producing a snorchestra every night for the last couple of months.  Ever since her adenoidectomy and tonscillectomy last August these noises improved, until recently.  She had a bit of noise coming back, then a summer cold, and it's been full on since.  She has many episodes of sleep apnea an hour, let alone an entire night.  If this procedure doesn't work we'll do a sleep study in January and probably get started on CPAP.  CPAP is continuous positive airway pressure.

Pre-op on the 24th, surgery on the 29th, trick or treating on the 31st.

I'll never be hungry again!

“As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me.
I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again.
No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill.
As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again.”

Inside Out: Lydia's Version

Anxiety - yep, about most things. Envy - uh huh, and wondering why she's different. (scars, treatments, growth hormone shots, CPAP, IE...
